Conference Location

Conference will be located at Deer Valley Meadows 39017, Range Rd 230, Alix, AB T0C.

We respectfully acknowledge that the Village of Alix is on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and traveling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Metis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux.

Arrival Dates & Times

This year’s conference runs from 4pm on Sunday, August 24th through Breakfast (8:00am) on Thursday, August 28th.

Doors open and check-in begins at 4pm on Sunday. Plan to arrive no later than 5pm Sunday evening to give yourself time to check-in to your room and explore the new site. Registration will be in the Lodge (see site map below) and parking is available outside the Lodge. Our first event is dinner on Sunday night at 5:30pm followed by Family Fun Night at 6:30pm.

Registration

You can register for the conference by clicking the REGISTER button in the website menu. This information will help us accommodate your family’s specific room & transportation needs. Only one registration submission is necessary per family.

Please submit your registration form as well as any overnight guests no later than July 5th.

Bringing a day guest to conference? Please contact Bev Mayerle by Aug 5th to register a guest for meals and at the conference. The cost of conference for the whole week (overnights and meals) per adult is $303, per child 4-11 is $149, and children 3 and under are free. Adult meals are $11 for breakfast, $14 for lunch and $17 for dinner. Children’s meals are $7 for breakfast, $11 for lunch, and $11 for dinner.

Travel Details

RV Option Deer Valley Meadows has several fully serviced RV sites. If you are interested in bringing your RV to conference, contact Bev Mayerle (403) 554-6246 bev.mayerle@interactministries.org for more information and to reserve your spot.

Don’t forget to bring! Please bring your own bedding and towels as well as a fan if you would like to cool down your room. Don’t forget your swimsuit if you’d like to enjoy the water activities.

For families flying into Calgary International Airport there will be a shuttle leaving at 2pm on Sunday, August 24th to the retreat center. If you would like to ride the shuttle, please select the shuttle option when filling out your family’s registration form.

A return shuttle to the airport will leave the retreat center by 9:30 am, arriving no earlier than 12pm on Thursday, August 28th. Please book your flights accordingly.

Flight cost & vehicle fuel expenses for conference are reimbursable by InterAct Ministries, but please note that vehicle rentals are not (though you may choose to MER them).

Optional Activities

On Monday during free time the Zip Line & Climbing Wall will be available from 2pm-4pm at no charge for staff and guests.

On Tuesday during free time the Slip’n Slide will be available between 2pm-4pm. You are also invited to spend the afternoon out on the lake at Rochon Sands Provincial Park (a 30-minute drive from Deer Valley Meadows).

Remember to fill out your waiver if you want to participate in these.

Donations

Every year you have an opportunity to help us with some of the extras at conference like the expenses of child care and youth programming. We are planning to take an offering on Wednesday morning of the conference. However, if you prefer you can give whenever is most convenient via e-transfer.
