Main Speaker - Keith Klippenstein
I grew up in the Battlefords, Sask region and it has been my home my whole life. I have lived in North Battleford since 1979 when my family moved to the city so I could complete high school. The Lord then led me to Prairie Bible College where I obtained a degree in Bachelor of Religious Education with a Cross-Cultural Missions minor. It was at Prairie that I met my wife Cheryl and we got married in 1988. We shared a passion for overseas missions and were in the process of exploring opportunities when my home church approached me to join the staff. In that same year I began ministry at Territorial Drive Alliance Church(TDAC) in North Battleford as Youth Pastor and Director of Territorial Youth Services. Over the course of 11 years we continued to develop deep roots in the community and in 1999 I was invited to become Senior Pastor. I continue in that role.
Cheryl and I have 5 children, which I will explain more about later. We consider ourselves incredibly blessed by God and the TDAC church family to serve in the Battlefords. Our region consists of 7 First Nations communities within 1 hour and 25% of the population of the city is Indigenous. Because of these factors Interact Ministries has targeted the Battlefords area for ministry since 1987. I personally have known and appreciated each of the 6 couples who have served in my home area. Since 2007 our church was led to participate directly in the First Nations ministry along with Interact. We continue to grow in our passion for this ministry although the strategy has changed significantly in recent years. Little did I realize in the 80’s that the Lord was preparing my heart for cross-cultural ministry right where I grew up.
8 years ago Dale Smith invited me to serve on the Interact Canada board. What a joy to connect with Interact on that level!
I enjoy downhill skiing, motorcycling, people of all backgrounds and helping my wife with her business venture. In the year 2019 Cheryl was presented with the opportunity to become the business owner of the local Fabricland. This venture has brought significant joy and growth for us both. We both feel incredibly fulfilled in business and ministry. I look forward to connecting with the whole Interact Canada team!
